Clear Visor

Gentex Clear Visor Assemblies are engineered to provide aircrew with facial protection from windblast, high-light intensity, spall resulting from canopy or windscreen failure, ballistic and fragmentation threats, and dust and debris from rotary and jet wash.

Each unit is available for use in single or dual visor configurations and like all GENTEX helmet visors, provide 99% protection from damaging UV(A), UV(B) and UV(C) sunlight. Each visor meets the requirements of MIL-V-43511 and provides impact protection equivalent to a 0.22 caliber fragmentation projectile at up to 560 fps (feet per second).

These polycarbonate aircrew helmet visors are manufactured with optical characteristics in accordance with several U.S. military specifications for excellent distortion-free visual acuity, and the surfaces of the visor are coated with an abrasion-resistant coating in accordance with MIL-C-83409.

A wide range of single and dual clear visor assembly kits are available for all Gentex helmets, including the HGU-55/P, HGU-56/P, HGU-84/P, SPH-4B and SPH-5 helmets. Some visors feature attachment via a bungee (snap-on) or a tracked type, and are available in various trims to integrate with the MBU-20/P, MBU-12/P and MBU-5/P oxygen masks.

For specific visual acuity flight and terrain conditions, other visors are available including the High Contrast Visor Assembly Kit designed specifically for snow, haze and fog conditions faced by aircrew, and the Lightweight Gradient Visor Assembly Kit that protects against sun glare while allowing aircrews to see instrumentation clearly. Gentex also offers a leading line of laser visors to safeguard against laser threats.
