Blacksburg, VA – September 20, 2012 – Aegisound received a new product delivery order, from the U.S. Navy, in support of its $25.3 Million sole-source Basic Ordering Agreement. This continues the delivery of Aegisound’s new line of advanced extreme noise hearing protection, communication and safety products. These products were designed primarily for U.S. DoD aircraft maintainers, but are also being sold to industrial and non-U.S defense customers.

This order includes 22,000 units of Aegisound’s patented DC2 circumaural hearing protector.  The DC2 provides Navy personnel with more than 10 times the safe exposure time, versus legacy ear muffs.  The order also includes several hundred Argonaut™ double hearing protection (DHP) communication headsets, as well as funds for associated data item deliverables.  The ArgonautTM DHP communication headset incorporates a patented digital noise canceling microphone technology that dramatically improves the ability to communicate in extreme noise environments such as those encountered on U.S. Navy flight decks and flight lines.
